Two internationally renowned R&B/Soul artists are coming to St. Pete as part of a new musical series downtown. The Floridian Social Club (historic State Theater) has teamed up with Berset + Harris Entertainment for the LIVE ON CENTRAL music series, and its Labor Day weekend concert features Grammy-nominated Anthony David and singer globetrotter J. Brown in the city.
Hosted by acclaimed R&B musician Alex Harris, the incredible show takes place at the Floridian Social Club on Saturday, September 3 at 7:30 p.m. David, Brown and Harris will all perform as part of the event, and tickets for the evening are available now.
Anthony David is an acclaimed singer-songwriter who performs to sold-out venues around the world and has gained international recognition over the course of his career. He is acclaimed both for his single, “4Evermore”, which features Algebra and Phonte, as well as songs written on India.Arie’s 7x GRAMMY nominated Acoustic Soul recording.
J. Brown has entertained audiences from North America to Asia with a mix of energetic and sultry performances, and since 2018 he has amassed five Billboard Top 15 singles, three of which reached the Top 10 lists. Her 2022 single, “Don’t Rush,” recently hit No. 11 on the charts and continues to climb.
Alex Harris, producer and host of LIVE ON CENTRAL, also performs. Her Billboard Top 30 single “Falling for You” was recognized in USA Today’s Top 40 R&B/Soul Singles across North America. Harris serves as emcee for the intimate music series.

Hosted by Alex Harris, LIVE ON CENTRAL offers a fresh take on and personality to the St. Pete music scene, showcasing local talent while bringing in nationally and globally recognized artists. The series debuted this summer welcoming legendary jazz and soul artist Gregory Porter to the Floridian.

LIVE ON CENTRAL aims to amplify some of the artistic culture of the Burg in a way that has not been promoted or celebrated – giving St. Petersburg its own live music cultural identity in the global music market. The unique and intimate series allows audiences to experience some of St. Pete’s local “raw talent,” while engaging with performing artists in an intimate atmosphere.
