Want to enhance your Xbox Game Pass experience? Join the official Pure Xbox Game Club!
We can’t give any credit to the staff for that – the PX Game Club is the brainchild of ralphdibny and the rest of the contributors to the Pure Xbox forums, who have created a community that comes together monthly to play a game on Xbox Game Pass and share their experiences. Games are voted on monthly by the contributors involved.
The game for June 2022 is Mass Effect Legendary Edition, which is available as part of EA Play. The intention is to only play the first game, but feel free to move on to the second and third games if you wish!
Below is the forum thread to get involved (it has over 1,650 entries so far!):
If you’re interested in what kind of discussion is going on, here’s an example of what a contributor had to say about last month’s Pure Xbox Game Club title, Life Is Strange: True Colors:
“Haven Springs and its people really felt like a community. I thought about it a bit more and while many places in the games are memorable, how many actually pull off that aspect, I bet few. The actual footprint of the game, The area you can walk around is tiny, mostly half a main street with a few buildings and alleys you can walk into, plus a few mostly unimportant areas that you visit once as a plot device.
However, visiting them and their residents multiple times really reinforced that sense of belonging and community through simple game design. Reminds me of Kamurocho from Yakuza or even, to a lesser extent, from earlier GTAs like 3 and Vice City before world size became the determining factor and we hardly ever go back to the same place twice except for Grove St. Often less is more and the density of the world versus expansiveness can be a good thing. Smaller developers in particular can leverage this to their advantage in certain games.”
