The Indiana Lions Club will be hosting an indoor/outdoor garage sale for friends and family at Lions Health Camp from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or while supplies last) on August 6. The sale is open to community participation and the club charges $10. per table, with indoor and outdoor space available.
Indoor setup can begin on August 5, and anyone wishing to participate can bring in items to sell on that day.
There will also be a mini basket raffle on Saturday, and there will also be food items for purchase during the sale. Hot dogs with a variety of condiments, assorted fries, cookies and drinks will be available.
Anyone interested in having a table for sale should contact Club President Mariann McGee or Club Treasurer Beth Irwin to reserve a spot by calling (724) 397-9719 or (724) 463-3486. last day to reserve a spot is Wednesday. All unsold items must be removed from the clubhouse on Saturday evening after the sale.
Craft House to hold at the library
The Craft House at Indiana Free Library will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on August 6 at 845 Philadelphia St., Indiana. The craft house is back for the fall. The Craft House is a self-directed arts and crafts activity for children ages 6-12. Stop and work on something fun with your friends. All materials will be provided for each week’s activity. The flag football championship will take place
The annual Indiana Women’s Flag Soccer Championship on Saturday will be held from 2-8 p.m. Aug. 6 at Mack Park Fairground Fields. Come support the women of the IWFF by doing what we love most, watching football, drinking beer and eating delicious food.
The son’s party will be held
His Day in the Park will take place from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on August 7 at Sherman St. Park, Clymer. This is a free annual event that includes music, food, kiddie korner with crafts, puppet theater, balloons and explosions.
Mushroom Walk Set
A “Bioluminescent Mushroom Walk: Mushrooms That Glow in the Dark” will be presented from 9-10:30 p.m. on August 5 at the Yellow Creek State Park Environmental Learning Center, 170 Route 259, Penn Run.
Venture with park educator Shane Miller on the trails in search of the Illusionary Bioluminescent Mushrooms. On this trip we will travel ¾ of a mile along dark trails.
Please bring a folding chair, water and insect repellent. This program is for ages 10 and up.
